Disneyland day 1

The first day of Disneyland was the best. It was great to see all the kids reactions to the rides for the first time. Emmy loved any ride that went up into the air like the Dumbo ride and the spaceship ride. She also the loved the one kids roller coaster that we managed to sneak her on, (she was about an inch to short to ride.) She also loved Jasmine! she ran up to her, hugged her and would not let go! Which is weird because she has never even seen the movie Aladdin!?
We did mostly kids rides that day but did manage to get in space mountain, another one I wish I could have bought the picture for because of Dave's face, it was great! We ate a lot food that I'm sure is terrible for you but I justified it with all the walking we were doing :) And avoided all spinning rides! It was a great day and everyone was beat and ready for bed by the time we got back.

Day 2 of Disneyland

Day 2 of Disneyland was spent on the California Adventure side. We went on the Monsters Inc. ride then the Tower of Terror! Which was awesome! I think that was my favorite ride and Dave's face on that was priceless! I wish i could have gotten the picture! Then we went and saw the Aladdin show and did lots of other little rides in the bugs life side. Later that night we went to the bugs life little 3D show which was way cool, I recommend it if anyone is planning on going to Disneyland any time soon. Around ten everyone decided to catch the shuttle back to the hotel but me Emmy, Tonya, Sydnee and Anikka decided to head over to the Disneyland side and catch a few more rides. We left around 11:40pm our feet and backs were kill us and the kids were out cold!

Day 3 of Disneyland!

Day three of disneyland was just as fun as the first two. We ran over to California Adventure side to finish up a few rides over there like the buzz light year and a couple other smaller ones. Then off to Disneyland for It a Small World and toontown to see Mickey and Minnie's house and to race some cars and splash mountain. By the time we got done its about 8 pm and after three days everyone was beat and ready for the hot tub, hotel, and no more walking!!!

Christmas and lots of catch up blogs!

Wow I can't believe another Christmas and new year has already come and gone! Christmas was a blast this year! It was so fun to see the kids get excited and tear into their presents and stockings. Emmy loved the big huge bear that papa bought for all the grand kids to play with. She also loved her baby doll with its own diaper bag and car seat, she is quite the little mommy! New year we had a little fondue party at Shelly's house and played games. Believe it or not the kids stayed up the whole time and at midnight banged on pots and pans to bring the new year in, they thought it was pretty neat!
The rest of the blogs below are all my catch ups because I slacked again! So everything down to Halloween is all new posts. I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a happy new year!!!!

A night at temple square

On a quick trip to salt lake, me, Dave, Emmy, and my mom, dad, and Sharrod stopped by temple square to see the christmas lights. It was beautiful as always and one of my favorite things at christmas time.

Lake Havasu

On way back from Arizona we decided to stop at Lake Havasu to stretch our legs and eat some lunch. We had a blast and got to see some neat things too!

Thanksgiving/Family Reunion in Arizona

For thanksgiving we headed down to Arizona for a Hancock Family Reunion, that's my mom's mom's family. My Great grandma is an amazing woman who delivered and raised 14 children!!!! Any woman who can live through that should be given a Nobel prize along with a couple million dollars if you ask me! Needless to say the reunions are always very large even when everyone cant make it. It always amazes me how organized and smooth everything goes even with all those people! It was great to be able to visit and catch up with my grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins I have not seen in a couple of years. The food is always amazing and there is always fun activity's going on every day. It was a great Thanksgiving full of food and tons of family!

Hunting

In October Dave's dad flew out to salt lake to go hunting with his boys. They assured him that that they would have the greatest hunting spot ever and that camp would be all set up before he even got there. Of course this did not happen. Instead he got loaded down with camping and hunting gear, dragged up the side of a very steep mountain with that slippery shell rock all over it at 2:30 in the A.M.! luckily they all made it up alive and had a good time and made some great memories.

buffalo & elk in springdale

This is a Saturday in September that we all decided to hop in the car and drive up to Springdale (that little town right before you get into Zion National Park) for lunch at Oscars Cafe, they have really really good food! After lunch we walked down the street to show Emmy the elk and buffalo they have there. She thought they were pretty neat but lost interest as soon as she saw the cat. It was pretty cool though cause they have little bags full of pellets that you can donate a couple bucks for and feed them. I was surprised at how long the buffalo's tongues were!!!
Catching a bit to eat at yummy Oscars cafe Emmy really wanted to play with that cat!

great quotes taken from em's blog :)

Anger and Love have no limits;
choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely life.....

Things are to be used and people are to be loved,
but the problem in today's world is people are used and things are loved...
During the day, be careful to keep this thought in mind:
Things are to be used, but People are to be loved ...Be yourself....
This is the only day we HAVE. Have a nice day..

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits they become character; Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

vegas baby!

Last Tuesday my mom had to take her state boards for Nursing school in Las Vegas. She didn't want to be down there stressed out all by herself, and it was also my dad's birthday Tue, so she thought it would be fun to take the family and spend a couple days down there in our trend west. Her and my dad drove down on sun and me, Emmy, my sis and her family drove down on tue. We had a blast swimming everyday, playing rock band and eating really yummy dinners!

One of the nights there we decided to catch the shuttle and take the kids to see the lights and the M&M factory. The shuttle picks you up at trend west and drops you off at Caesars palace. well we get off the shuttle and try to decided what way the M&M factory is. We finally decide to head north and after walking quite a ways and not running into it we go into one of the shoppes to ask, and sure enough its all the way in the other direction!!! So we take off that way and about 30 min later we finally get there YAHOO! But now all the kids have fallen asleep! (I cant blame them it is already by this time almost 11 pm.) So we wake them up, buy them some M&M's and show them all the cool things. Now we have to haul butt back to Caesars palace to catch the shuttle at 11:45 pm cause the next one does not get there till 12:30 am!
We take off at a fast pace but have multiple obstacles in our way like drunk people that cant even come close to walking in a straight line, traffic lights that we have to wait for to cross the street, stairs that we have to carry strollers up and down etc....
We are about a block and a half away from the pick up spot and only five min to get there! My dad tells me to run there and see if I can get the shuttle to wait for them, so I take off running in the hot humid air get to the shuttle stop sweaty and out of breath only to find out that I just missed it by a sec! :( After everyone else gets there I tell them and we all head into Caesars palace to wait an hour and 20 min for the next shuttle.
long story short the shuttle finally came, we remembered that we didn't like the strip and we were all really happy to be off our feet and in our beds! We did all have a really good time and the best news of all is that my mom passed her state boards! She is now officially a registered nurse! GOOD JOB MOM WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! YOU HAVE WORKED SO SO SO SO HARD!!!! X O X O X O

Cascade springs

Over the 4th of July weekend my mom, dad, and little bro Sharrod came up to Salt Lake for a nursing seminar that my mom had to speak in. While they were hear they thought they my might as well get Sharrods school shopping taken care of so on Friday we headed up to Park City and were shopping ALL DAY LONG! It was a long day but I was so proud of Emmy she was such a champ and did not make one peep all day long! Seriously not a single peep she was soooo good! On Saturday I took my mom and dad up to a place Dave and I had happened upon a week ago, called Cascade Springs. Its a really beautiful place made up of cascading waterfalls and crystal clear pools of water that you can see straight to the bottom and see all the fish swimming. Anyway we had a great time and here are a few pics from it.
