Last Tuesday my mom had to take her state boards for Nursing school in Las Vegas. She didn't want to be down there stressed out all by herself, and it was also my dad's birthday Tue, so she thought it would be fun to take the family and spend a couple days down there in our trend west. Her and my dad drove down on sun and me, Emmy, my sis and her family drove down on tue. We had a blast swimming everyday, playing rock band and eating really yummy dinners!
One of the nights there we decided to catch the shuttle and take the kids to see the lights and the M&M factory. The shuttle picks you up at trend west and drops you off at Caesars palace. well we get off the shuttle and try to decided what way the M&M factory is. We finally decide to head north and after walking quite a ways and not running into it we go into one of the shoppes to ask, and sure enough its all the way in the other direction!!! So we take off that way and about 30 min later we finally get there YAHOO! But now all the kids have fallen asleep! (I cant blame them it is already by this time almost 11 pm.) So we wake them up, buy them some M&M's and show them all the cool things. Now we have to haul butt back to Caesars palace to catch the shuttle at 11:45 pm cause the next one does not get there till 12:30 am!
We take off at a fast pace but have multiple obstacles in our way like drunk people that cant even come close to walking in a straight line, traffic lights that we have to wait for to cross the street, stairs that we have to carry strollers up and down etc....
We are about a block and a half away from the pick up spot and only five min to get there! My dad tells me to run there and see if I can get the shuttle to wait for them, so I take off running in the hot humid air get to the shuttle stop sweaty and out of breath only to find out that I just missed it by a sec! :( After everyone else gets there I tell them and we all head into Caesars palace to wait an hour and 20 min for the next shuttle.
long story short the shuttle finally came, we remembered that we didn't like the strip and we were all really happy to be off our feet and in our beds! We did all have a really good time and the best news of all is that my mom passed her state boards! She is now officially a registered nurse! GOOD JOB MOM WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! YOU HAVE WORKED SO SO SO SO HARD!!!! X O X O X O

Cascade springs
Over the 4th of July weekend my mom, dad, and little bro Sharrod came up to Salt Lake for a nursing seminar that my mom had to speak in. While they were hear they thought they my might as well get Sharrods school shopping taken care of so on Friday we headed up to Park City and were shopping ALL DAY LONG! It was a long day but I was so proud of Emmy she was such a champ and did not make one peep all day long! Seriously not a single peep she was soooo good! On Saturday I took my mom and dad up to a place Dave and I had happened upon a week ago, called Cascade Springs. Its a really beautiful place made up of cascading waterfalls and crystal clear pools of water that you can see straight to the bottom and see all the fish swimming. Anyway we had a great time and here are a few pics from it.
Zoo 2009
So about a month ago we took Emmy to the Zoo to see all the animals. We took her about this same time last year when she was only 3 months old, we thought (or at least I did) That it would be fun to take her again now that she kinda knows what animals are. She seemed to have a lot a more fun this time, she liked the Elephants and the monkeys but her favorite seemed to be the merry-go-round, she loved it! and she thought she was pretty cool when her dad got down to let her ride it all by herself! She also got randomly kissed by four different little girls and different times while we were there. I don't know I guess she must have looked extra kissable that day ;)
Emmys 1st birthday!!!
I know its a little late posting this seeing as her birthday was 2 months ago! Sorry!
Emmy's 1st birthday turned out pretty good. There was not really a theme other then bright colors. We had some stinkin cute cupcakes thanks to my sister who insisted that we make them ourselves. I was all about going to the store and buying some but little sis said NO we can make some cute ones ourselves for way cheaper so I reluctantly agreed. We made the frosting with cool whip and neon food coloring so people would not get a sugar overload when they ate them. It was fun making them and everything was going great until the cake. The cake was originally supposed to look like a giant cup cake. We had the cool whip in the freezer to set up a bit so it would stay stiff enough to make the swirls, well we let sit a little too long so it had some parts that were frozen. Before we cut the tip of the bag to put the cool whip on the cake, we mushed it around a little first to soften up the chunks. When we were done and ready to put it on the cake I had Randi do it because she made better swirls then me while I went to work on the gift bags. Well she did a beautiful swirl job and it look like a cute giant cupcake. . . . for about two seconds, then it melted right before our eyes into a puddle on the cake!!! :(. I was very sad. There was not much we could do but put in the freezer to set again and make do with how it turned out, which was not to bad but the giant cupcake was much more cutter!
The next day we went to Ivins park for Emmy's party where we had cupcakes and played at the splash pad. Emmy made out like a bandit as far as gifts go thanks to Both her grandparents, her aunts and uncles, and my sweet friends Sarah, Emily and Val!
Thank you so much everyone for making Emmy's first birthday a great one!!!!
